Monsters.io is a fighting game set in a multiplayer arena. The player can choose a monster and roam through the city. The player must smash buildings, stamp on the humans, and knock down other monsters to become the king of all monsters. For each round the player completes, another monster character will be partially unlocked.
The player can move through the arena by dragging the mouse across the screen, or a finger when playing on a touchscreen device. The monster will automatically swing his arms and stamp to attack when a target is nearby. In a confrontation with another monster, the biggest monster with the highest ranking will always win.
