What are Bubble Shooter games?

Bubble Shooters or Bubble games are a variation on tile-matching games, where the square tiles are replaced with sticky bubbles. There games are visually appealing due to the brightly colored bubbles, which sometimes also contain pattern or funny little creatures.
Bubble Shooter games first became popular in the mid-1990s with the release of Taito’s arcade game Puzzle Bobble (also known as Bubble Buster or Bust-a-Move). The rules of Bubble Shooter games are simple and intuitive, but may vary a little bit for each individual game. Set Up

The rectangular field is filled with random bubbles. At the bottom of the screen is a bubble cannon, which the player can use to aim and shoot. Random bubbles will be loading into the bubble cannon. The players cannot select which bubbles are put in the cannon, but they can see which bubble is already inside the cannon and which one will be loaded next. Sometimes there will be a swap symbol next to the cannon, allowing the player to swap these two bubbles around.

Goal of the Game

The goal is to pop the bubbles before they reach the bottom of the screen, and get so close to the cannon that the player can no longer aim and shoot effectively.

How to play

The player can pop the bubbles by grouping together clusters of three or more of the same color. If the player misses, one bubble will vanish from the bubble-count at the bottom of the screen. Once the count hits zero, a new row of bubbles will appear at the top of the screen, pushing all the existing bubbles further down. Bubbles that become detached from the other bubbles because the player has popped all the bubbles that surround them, will also vanish.

Bubble Struggle, also known as Bubble Trouble, is a popular bubble shooter game designed by Kresimir Cvitanovic. The player must help the hero – a little devil dressed in a trenchcoat - run under the bouncing bubbles and pop them by shooting up and splitting them into smaller bubbles until they pop.
